Be Inspired

70 Years

if god was to grant you 70 years of your life...

you would spend:

24 years sleeping

14 years working

8 years in amusement

6 years at the dinner table

5 years in transportation

4 years in conversation

3 years in education

3 years reading

3 years watching television

if you went to church every sunday

and prayed 5 minutes, every morning and night,

you would be giving god 5 months of your life.

can't we give 5 months

out of 70 years?

Life is Beautiful

poem by Nikhil Parekh (2004)

Life is Beautiful

every minute unleashing all day is a beautiful minute

getting you acclimatized with the pace of life

every flower protruding from soil is a beautiful flower

spreading its mesmerizing scent deeply into your nostrils

every face smiling in the universe is a beautiful bird,

overwhelming your ears with its melodious sounds

every mountain towering towards the sky is a beautiful mountain,

appeasing your eyes with its picturesque landsacapes

every root of grass projecting from the jungle is a beautiful root,

tingling your senses, making you exotically dream

every hand that serves philanthropically is a beautiful hand,

propagating an egalitarian spirit in whosoever it caresses

every stream that flows through land is a beautiful stream,

pacifying the thirst of several scorched in vicinity

every eye that views goodness in this world is a beautiful eye,

sharing empathy with millions of bereaved lying around

every cloud in the sky is a beautiful cloud; showering droplets of europhoric

rain on earth; shielding it from acerbic rays of the sun

every language spoken is a beautiful language; assisting a person to convey his innermost feelings

every mirror embedded on the walls is a beautiful mirror;

portraying to you, your candid reflection

every color that circumvents your visage is a beautiful color;

symbolizing the oneness of human race

every voice that emanates from the throat is a beautiful voice;

explicity expressing a person's needs and desires

every mind impregnated within the skull is a beautiful mind; having the unfathomable

ability to achieve the impossible

every foot that walks innocently is a beautiful foot;

leaving behind a trail of holistic footprints

every leaf that extrudes from the tree is a beautiful leaf;

entrenching the dull, with shades of everlasting green

every mother having delivered a child is a beautiful mother;

continuing the wonderful process of evolution

every heart imprisoned inside the chest is a beautiful heart;

passionately throbbing when struck by an ensemble of emotions

and every entity trespassing through the surface of this earth is a beautiful entity;

making the globe a beautiful place to live in; giving rise to the famous and immortal adage;

which proudly proclaims that ..

life is beautiful.

Life is a Quiz

Life is like a quiz.

It's a pile of questions upon questions, each of which has a set of multiple choice for answers. These are our crossroads. The choices we make for our answers are our decisions.

The difference is that the choices are neither right nor wrong which is why we are not required to review. In fact there are no such things as reviewers in this type of quiz. And when we choose our answers we don't use our mind alone but also our heart.

Some correct answers will be vague, others will be illogical but right, most are dead sure answers but are chosen otherwise by people. Whatever answers we chose are affected by circumstances that we are experiencing. Other persons will not understand why we decided that way, others will support and provide guidance. But at any rate, we may opt not to choose any answer and get contented with what we already have.

The other difference is that we are allowed to copy from any whom you think is worth copying. That means we can copy or idolize the lives of others but may not have the same results.

And like any other quiz, one has to pass in order to be successful. But that doesn't mean getting all the answers right. Some answers will be deemed failures, others will be partially correct. Because unlike any other quiz, we will answer questions while learning from them. And these lessons will pile up as we answer more. And as we do rummage through the questions, we'll eventually learn to cope up and pass with flying colors.
